Coach Vogt and Coach Nelson took representatives from Omaha Nation to the Nebraska State Leadership And Sportsmanship Summit today in Norfolk, NE.
Ms. Kneifl, Middle School Language Arts, was selected as one of few teachers to receive a "Kids in Need Foundation Teacher Supply Box" this year. The sponsors of the box are: ArtSkills, Georgia Pacific, JOANN, American College of Education. The students will greatly benefit!

This past week, our Engineering Club, was challenged to design and build a slingshot car using only materials presented to them. Prior to designing, they had a shot lesson in Potential and Kinetic Energy. It was a blast testing these little race cars out!
Recently, our Kindergarten students and First grade students were visited by firefighters from the South Sioux City Fire Department. They were taught the rules and procedures of fire safety.

Fourth grade students have paired with Kindergarten students to form "Reading Buddy" partnerships. This is just one way we are continuing to build successful readers at UNPS elementary.

The Kindergarten team and students had a very educational and fun field trip to a local pumpkin patch. The joy on the student's faces says it all!




Ms. Nichols' 5th grade classroom conducted another activity, as they learned about food webs in science class. The students learned about producers, primary consumers, secondary consumers, and decomposers, all while having fun!
