Three times a year, the reading and math skills of our elementary students are checked to make sure students are making progress. Your child will be assessed during the week of August 30-September 3rd. Please see the attached image for more details.
Kindergarten and first grade practiced using the right amounts of glue in art this week by making rainbows with fruit loops.

Due to weather and connectivity at the host facility, the connection may be spotty so we apologize in advance for any issues. There will be no school for students on Monday 8-30-21 due to a funeral ceremony. Staff will report to work.

A big thumbs up to all the football, volleyball players and cross country runners for the hard work they have put in to get the seasons started. Remember games will start next week: Volleyball at Tri-County in Emerson on Thursday 8/26 at 6:00 and Football at Lower Brule on Friday 8/27 at 2:00 (note time change). GOOD LUCK!

UNPS Open House is tonight from 4 to 6:30. Meet and greet with teachers, registration, and a cookout at 5:30. 4-4:30 Freshman Parent Meeting. 5-5:30 Mandatory Fall Athletics Parent Meeting.
Fall practices are in full swing and parent meetings will be held tomorrow in the new gym at 5:00. The meeting is mandatory for parents of students in volleyball, football or cross country.

The first practice for varsity football will be on Monday, August 9th at 2:00pm anyone interested in going out please meet at the football field at that time. The first varsity volleyball practice will be on August 12th at 4:00 in the new gym. Physicals will be required this year for ALL students participating in sports. Students will not be allowed to practice until they have had a sports physical. Kindergarten, 7th graders and anyone transferring from another state will also need a physical.
Our JAG students who have been working in the Omaha Nation 7 acre garden and greenhouse got to go to the Norfolk water park to cool off on this hot day.

A big thanks to those that helped set up the basketball clinic last weekend: Tommy Johnson, Meechie Johnson, Shailece Porter, Makaila, COG basketball and the Society of Care. All the students enjoyed the clinic and learned basketball skills they can use next season.
