Winners of the first annual UNPS Poetry Contest were announced Friday, April 6th by Mrs. Schoenfelder. This was an open contest for all middle school and high school students. The first place winner in the high school was Raysia Harlan. The winning entry was “Too Young to Know.” Nakiah Bariah took second place with her poem, “Brown Eyes.” In the middle school, the winners were as follows: first place - Dayton Snow, for “My Sister,” second place - Justin Lasley, “Fear,” and third place - Nora Lyons, “Family.”
First place winners each received a $25 gift card. Second place winners each received a $10 gift card, and the the third place middle school prize was $5 in cash. Congratulations to all the winners!!
